Joette D. James, Ph.D., ABPP-CN

Dr. Joette James, Ph.D., ABPP-CN, is a nationally recognized leader in the areas of clinical psychology and forensic neuropsychology. Dr. James is a native of Ontario, Canada. She earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honors and Distinction from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. James went on to complete a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University. Dr. James has worked for many years with legal teams and forensic clinicians across the country on a broad range of civil and criminal cases.

 

Dr. James is a Clinical Neuropsychologist boarded by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). This is a distinction held by only 1% of psychologists nationwide. In order to achieve this distinction, Dr. James successfully completed a multi-step process including a written exam, vetting of credentials, peer review of reports, and an in-person, three-part oral exam. 

 

Dr. James has extensive experience in adult and pediatric psychology, as well as child and adult pediatric neuropsychology. She has served at several prestigious institutions, including Children’s National Medical Center in Washington and Children’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. James is also a noted academic, having served as an Assistant Professor at The George Washington University, in the departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
