On August 23, 2020, Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old black man, was shot seven times in the back by Rusten Sheskey, a police officer, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Coat tailing a number of high-profile cases with similar scenarios and the protesting the followed shortly thereafter, Blake’s case was brought to the center of conversations surrounding police violence and excessive force towards members of the Black Community.
