Tiffany F. Gartrell, MD

Dr. Tiffany F. Gartrell, a Licensed Psychiatric Physician, is Board-Certified in Forensic Psychiatry and General Psychiatry. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia, concentrating in the areas of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Microbiology. She completed her medical school training at Morehouse School of Medicine and both her Psychiatry Residency and Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine. She is currently adjunct clinical faculty at Morehouse School of Medicine, Emory School of Medicine, and the Wellstar Residency Program, where she assists in the training of medical students, residents, and fellows in Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Family Medicine. She is also joining the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Gartrell practices as a full-time out-patient Community Psychiatrist at Wellstar Health System.

 

While in fellowship, Dr. Gartrell was able to complete numerous competency evaluations, criminal responsibility evaluations, civil evaluations, and provide expert witness testimony in various state courts. She also has experience in correctional psychiatry, from previous work in the Louisiana Department of Corrections. She has extensive experience with competency restoration, in-patient treatment of forensic patients, and monitoring forensic patients on conditional release from her previous years of employment at DBHDD-Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta, GA and East Louisiana Mental Health System in Jackson, LA. Dr. Gartrell has been admitted and testified extensively both in civil and criminal court matters.
